IN NEED OF A TOUCH

Text: Mark 6:56

“And wherever he went—into villages, towns or countryside—they placed the sick in the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch even the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.”

In the text above, we see a picture of a sick and hurting world in desperate need of Jesus and his power. They brought sick people from villages, cities, or countryside to wherever they heard Jesus was. They were laying the sick in the open marketplaces for a touch from Jesus.

I believe as it was then, so it is now. There are still so many sick and hurting people in the world we live in. Many are sick physically, but I believe that a larger number of people are sick spiritually, mentally and emotionally. Many people are in pain and looking for answer and solution to those pains and problems.

The first thing this text reveals to us is that, it is God’s will to heal people who are sick. There should be no second-guessing that foundational truth. Those people would not have brought their sick folks if they didn’t believe that Jesus would and could heal those sicknesses.

The second thing in our text is that as many of the sick folks as were able to touch Jesus, they were made whole. Notice, It was not ONLY some of the sick folks that were healed or some sicknesses and not others – ALL those that touched Jesus were healed. Healing was made available to all.

Today, we have a better covenant based on the finished work of Christ on the cross. Healing has been made available to us through the finished work of Christ. Are you sick and in need of healing today? Healing is your covenant right in Christ. You don’t need to beg God for healing, it is God’s will for you as a child of God. You need to just put your faith in the provision that Jesus has made for your healing on the cross.

Today, I pray that you will experience the touch and power of God in your body, spirit and soul. I command sickness to leave your body. Be free in your mind and spirit. Receive your healing and restoration in every areas of life “for by his wounds you have been healed (1 Peter 2:24)”

Have a blessed day.
